Here are our descriptives for test #2, t-tests and hypothesis testing. I exported the SPSS output as a pdf file and am sharing it here:

Test Two, Chapters 9 & 10

October 14, 2009

The test format will be very similar to our first exam. There will be a closed book section of multiple choice and short answer questions that will require you to reflect on what we’ve covered. After you turn that in we’ll have an open book, open note set of problems to solve. You should also be prepared to answer questions by reading and interpreting SPSS output. You will have the entire 3 hours of lab if you need it. I expect many to be done after an hour or so. Remember to bring paper, pencils, your calculator, etc.

Each laptop should share a conclusion statement by commenting. Additionally, I would like for you to look at the output from each problem and notice which test is more powerful. Why?

MWTr t-test lab conclusions

October 12, 2009

Each laptop should share a conclusion statement by commenting. Additionally, I would like for you to look at the output from each problem and notice which test is more powerful. Why?

We’ll be starting with these problems on Monday and Tuesday. Be prepared to work and write conclusion statements.

problems may be found here

write a complete conclusion statement for our second lab problem (females, verbal skills…) as a comment on this post. You should also write a statement about the confidence interval question too.

We’ll be working in groups an that is probably a good thing. ;-)

See ya’ll at 1:25 and in the mornin’ at 9:35.

I’ll try to get the content for lab up after intro psych class.

EDIT: here is a link with data for our lab class.

Ind and Dep Samples t-tests

September 30, 2009

Have ya’ll started on the extra HW problems? Grab them off the content page and we’ll work through them together in class, just like we did with the one sample t-test. We won’t be able to wait on everyone to crunch the numbers so let’s get going on that before class.

reminder for readings —>

September 25, 2009

Notice the page on the right labeled, “Hypothesis Testing Articles”.

Directions and another link to the readings (there was one a few posts ago) are there. We will go over groups on Monday and Tuesday. I know that everyone has a least three available hours, so my expectations are hight that everyone will work through these papers/websites/articles, etc.
