simple ANOVA lab
October 29, 2009
Lab this week will focus on using spss to calculate oneway independent and repeated measures ANOVA. We will also be focusing on post-hoc tests and interpretation. The lab directions, as always, can be found on the content page.
Share your conclusions here as comments. (Then start reading chapter 12).
No class 2day, Thursday March12th
March 12, 2009
No class today. As many of you know I had a surprise office flood. It stinks bad, but never fear your exams stayed dry because I placed them up high in a safe location. Needless to say, with the moving and drying out and such I am running behind. I’m going to try and catch up this afternoon.
GO ahead and read the next 2 chapters on ANOVA (three if you want to knock regression out too). If you don’t feel confident about t-tests you really need to go back and do more work there. ANOVA is simply adding a third (or fourth or fifth or …) group to the context of the problems.
Again, keep focusing on selecting the correct test for your question and design and interpreting the data.

Exam #3
November 18, 2008
TTR class… if you want to get started a little early come on over, the room is free. some folks ran over by 10 minutes yesterday, so we can start 10 minutes earlier.
Somebody should call K-mart and make sure she is here on time at the latest today.
HW solutions in SPSS
November 16, 2008
Here is the output we created together last week in SPSS.
Use it to check your HW solutions and review where the relevant data is found.
This will only stay up for a while, so this link will be dead at the end of the semester:
Data file for SPSS ANOVA lab

Let’s see if we can get this to download:
Two more classes, then our ANOVA test.
November 10, 2008
This week we will go over Factorial ANOVAs in class from a theoretical perspective, then we will do some SPSS work on independent and dependent oneway ANOVAs, finishing with factorial ANOVAs. Bring your extra-HW files for our SPSS day.
We’ll follow that up with tests on Monday and Tuesday respectively.
The answers to the even numbered problems in our text that I suggested you do are also on the content page.
SPSS exercises and Practice
November 3, 2008
Scholars,
Today (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday) we will be using SPSS. Bring your old exam #2, we’ll work those problems. We’ll also do some ANOVA if time allows.
Additionally, bring your calendars. Ashley and Catherine are working on a research project and you have an opportunity to both help your peers and learn more about t-tests and SPSS by participating.
