PSYC3070: Statistics for the Behavioral Sciences

Our first exam will be on Thursday and Friday in our labs. We will only be covering through chapter 8.

MW folks should be prepared to work through the HM problems shared next and do some SPSS work in class on Wednesday. TTr folks will have a little more time. We might update our software licenses together on Tr morning. Be on time and anything you have done ahead will help us move through the material one last time.

This week will be working on moving data into SPSS, via our fist lab assignment.

After this we’ll take some time to calculate our HW over descriptives by hand and then dump that into SPSS and see what it says.

These things should keep us busy for a while

Over the next few course meetings we’ll be working on descriptive statistics. The content for that information can be found in the following chapters of your textbook: 1, 2, 5, & 6.  You will find suggested homework (HW) problems for these chapters on the “content” page. Check the nav bar on the right side of your monitor for the link to that page.

After we finish this material (all review for you guys), we’ll move on to another chapter and 1/2 before exam #1.

… will be on Monday and Tuesday. It will cover everything we have covered thus far. Because of the slowness of getting the macs a clean image we will only be working with paper and pencil this time. There will be a closed book section, then an open book, open calculator problem solving section. (It’s all closed neighbor.)

If I were you, I’d work the suggested homework problems and then reflect on how comfortable I am with the questions. If you are not more comfortable, work more problems and organize study groups to solve confusing problems together.
