Lab wk 2

August 27, 2009

This week will be working on moving data into SPSS, via our fist lab assignment.

After this we’ll take some time to calculate our HW over descriptives by hand and then dump that into SPSS and see what it says.

These things should keep us busy for a while

QM week two: descriptives

August 21, 2009

We’ll dive into descriptives on Monday or Tuesday (depending upon your class). Make sure you bring plenty of paper, pencils, and your calculator with you. After we work through some things by hand, then we’ll spend some time with SPSS in our lab.

I may be adding and moving assignments on here… so check back often or aggregate this site.

Stats Lab Wk 1

August 20, 2009

The following things are what I’m thinking about doing today, no particular order yet. I believe this is a necessary evil to get us through the semester in an efficient way.

  • Organizing the classroom and work groups.
  • Intro to macbooks and OS X.
  • Getting on the internet and saving to your network space.
  • Finding programs/files/organization
  • Creating your own user account.
  • Keyboard and mouse differences from a Microsoft OS
  • How SPSS works.
  • Let’s work through the tutorial… this will get us ready to import data.
